Full Tour of Our 30-Year-Old 74ft Hatteras (Ep. 3)

Come aboard Empire, our 1998 74' Hatteras Sport Deck, two and a half years after we bought her. We walk you through every space before we move aboard: the aft deck and its Imperial March horn, the salon and galley floors we tore out, the pilothouse, flybridge and bow, all four staterooms, the hidden generator room and the twin Caterpillar 3412s in the engine room. Next up: short trips up and down the East Coast, and eventually the Bahamas.

Restoring a 30-Year-Old Hatteras Master Stateroom (Ep. 2)

This room is about to become our home. The master stateroom on Empire, our 1998 74' Hatteras, is finally back together. We pulled out 30 years of carpet and padding, found four hatches we never knew existed, sealed the fiberglass underneath, swapped every old bulb for the right LEDs, and got the shower light working for the first time in two and a half years. Next up: replacing the old plastic windows with modern plexiglass and a ceramic tint.

Removing the Carpet From Our Hatteras Pilothouse Stairs (Ep. 1)

Why would anyone put carpet on yacht stairs? We pulled it out of the pilothouse on our 30-year-old Hatteras, brought the original wood back, and added clear grip strips so it's just as safe, without the gross carpet. Next up: the rest of the interior woodwork, the pilothouse lights, and getting Starlink mounted before we move aboard.
